Searching for e-books

Search for e-books using SuperSearch (limit your results to show ebooks only). You can also search the EBSCO ebook collection directly.

JSTOR also includes ebooks which are indexed by chapter.

ProQuest E-book Central is a large e-book collection on a broad range of subjects (these will also show up in ProQuest One searches.)

Search ACLS Humanities Ebook Project for ebooks in the humanities.

Search ABC-CLIO Ebooks for scholarly ebooks covering a wide range of topics.

**See our guide to C-N e-books for additional information on accessing e-books via various platforms.**

Downloading EBSCO ebooks:

Click here for detailed instructions from EBSCO about downloading ebooks.

Ebooks can be downloaded for 7 days, at which time they can be checked out again.

When in the Ebsco ebooks database or SuperSearch, you will see the link to "Full Download" that looks like this:

After clicking the link to download, you may see the following message:

If so, just click on the "Sign In/Create Account" link. If prompted, sign-in using your C-N email and password. (If you have already signed in previously within the same session, or you are on-campus, you may not have to sign in. However, you may still see this message.)

Next, you will see this box with a link to download the ebook for a borrow period of 7 days.

Check the box to agree that you have downloaded Adobe Digital Editions or an equivalent. (You will need to download the Adobe Digital Editions if you don't already have it.)

Once you download an ebook, you will have it on your device for 7-days.

EBSCO Mobile App

If you have an Apple or Android device, you can also use the EBSCO Mobile app to find and download e-books. See their guide for how to download and use the app.
